I'm not an intuitive cook, especially for foods I don't make often. If it's not vegetables with melted cheese or salad, I need a recipe.
I defrosted bay scallops from the Fresh Direct order, and wasn't sure what to do with them. I was too lazy to go get additional ingredients, so that ruled out recipes with wine or garlic (I not only don't have fresh garlic, I'm out of garlic powder). I ended up just poaching the scallops with onion powder and salt. They still tasted fishy (I don't like fishy fish), so I put them under the broiler. Eh. Next time I need to plan in advance.
I read "American Evita: Hillary Clinton's Path to Power" by Christopher Andersen who also wrote the Tracy/Hepburn bio. Published in 2004, this was not very flattering to Hillary. Several days after finishing, the things that stick in my mind are: 1) The student-era dark-haired Hillary who wore large glasses allegedly did not bathe often, and 2) The Clintons supposedly did not want a Democratic victory in 2004 as that would make it harder for Hillary to run in 2008. I do not know if any of this is actually true.
"Tinsel Town" by Catherine Mann seemed like one of the better Hollywood novels much of the way through, but soon got melodramatic and predictable.
