A new kind of ad campaign
Every day I do news and blog searches for "crossword," and often find random people talking about doing puzzles. Since these are mostly blogs, many of them tend to be younger people. When someone says they love crosswords, I'm tempted to comment and recommend "Wordplay." So far I haven't.
But I bet that would be an effective and very personal grass-roots campaign for the movie. It's as if you say you like skiing and an Olympic skier replies.
I also search for "Wordplay" (as well as "Word Play," Shortz, Creadon and our names). In rare cases when someone has a strong reaction to the movie, I do comment and it's been well received. We'll see how it goes. I may want to keep a lower profile once the movie is out.
