Someone had given me the puzzles from the NJ Blood Services tournament back in November, so I decided to do them for practice.
I made one mistake. It was "___ Ilyich Tchaikovsky" crossing "'___, mean it!'" I left it as PIOTR/LOVEIA even though that made no sense. I also thought of PEOTR/LOVEEA, which was equally bad. I didn't think of PYOTR/LOVEYA, the correct answer. I've never heard that expression.
Since I wasn't super-fast, that mistake really cost me and I would have placed 4th, out of the finals. Oy! I would have been first without it. I don't know the details of the finals, so don't know how my 5:30 time would have done.
Accuracy, accuracy. Gotta remember that.
