Good writing wanted, desperately
I never met a chick lit book I didn't like... until now.
I was not one of those prepubescent smart kids who read "War and Peace." Instead, I devoured teenage novels - and was disillusioned that by the time I became old enough, there was no soda shoppe and sock hop but instead a world of hippies and be-ins.
As an adult, I often devour the equivalent genre of chick lit. I loved "Carrie Pilby." I loved "Good in Bed" and "In Her Shoes." I loved "The Second Assistant."
I hated "Help Wanted, Desperately." See Ennie review at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0060589582/ref=pd_sxp_f/002-8262619-4882435?v=glance&s=books
I bought it at the New York Times book sale, and it's going to the book exchange shelf in my building's laundry room. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
