I'm still recording every book:
"The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls - an extraordinary memoir of a childhood of extreme material poverty where a bath was a luxury and dinner could be popcorn, margarine, or someone else's garbage. Luckily, there was no shortage of intellectual life. The author escaped a hardscrabble background to graduate Barnard (yay) and go on to a successful career in media. I've been trading away most of my books, but this one's a keeper.
"Really Clever Crosswords 2" by David Levinson Wilk - the lovely and talented David LW's second collection of puzzles syndicated in papers such as the "West Side Spirit." Since I rarely pick up the paper, most of the puzzles were new to me. There's usually a cute gimmick, so yes, they are really clever.
I had to throw out a bag of salad (expiration date 10/21 and they really meant it) and expensive cut-up butternut squash that had gone bad. Both were in my Fresh Direct shipment from a week ago Sunday. I have another order coming. The produce drawer is almost empty again, and I need cheese. There's still lots of frozen food left from last time, so I hope the freezer can fit everything.
